Service overview

What this service is

Advance tax computation works out what you must pay in each quarterly instalment so you do not attract interest at the end of the year. It is for business owners, professionals, traders and investors whose tax is not fully covered by TDS. Bluman projects your income for the year, computes the quarter-wise instalments, analyses interest exposure under Sections 234B and 234C, and gives you a challan-wise payment schedule.

Who needs it

Taxpayers whose tax liability for the year is not substantially covered by TDS — business owners, professionals, traders, investors with capital gains or dividend income, landlords, and salaried individuals with significant income outside salary. Resident senior citizens without business or professional income are generally outside the advance tax obligation.

What Bluman will do

  • Project your income for the full financial year across every head, using actuals for the elapsed period and reasoned estimates for the rest.
  • Compute the tax under both regimes where the choice is still open to you, so the instalments are based on the position you will actually adopt.
  • Credit TDS and TCS already deducted and reflected in Form 26AS and AIS, so you do not pay the same tax twice.
  • Work out the instalment payable by each due date — 15 June, 15 September, 15 December and 15 March — against the prescribed cumulative percentages.
  • Quantify interest exposure under sections 234B and 234C, including the effect of any instalment already short-paid.
  • Hand you a challan-wise payment schedule showing the amount, the due date and the correct challan and assessment year to use.

Key deliverables

  • Full-year income projection and tax computation
  • Regime comparison, where the choice is available
  • Quarter-wise instalment schedule with amounts and due dates
  • Section 234B and 234C interest exposure analysis
  • Challan-wise payment guidance

The computation is delivered within the stated turnaround once the income data is received. It is most useful a week or two before each instalment date, so there is time to arrange funds.

  • · Government fees, portal charges and applicable taxes are billed at actuals.
  • · Timelines start once complete documents and information are received.
  • · Outcomes that depend on a government authority cannot be guaranteed, but every step is tracked and communicated.

Documents required

  • Income figures for the year to date — business, professional, rental, interest, dividend and capital gains
  • A realistic estimate of income for the remaining months
  • Form 26AS and AIS for TDS and TCS already credited
  • Details of deductions and investments planned for the year
  • Advance tax challans already paid in the current year
  • Last year's return and computation, as a reference point

What we need from you

  • Give a realistic income estimate — an optimistic or understated projection produces the wrong instalment and the interest that follows.
  • Make the payment yourself through the income tax portal by the due date; Bluman does not handle client tax funds.
  • Tell us about a large one-off item such as a property sale or bonus as soon as it is known, so the next instalment reflects it.

Important conditions

  • The tax payable is your liability and is paid directly by you at actuals.
  • Return filing for the year is a separate service.
  • Interest under sections 234B and 234C is computed and explained; it cannot be waived by Bluman.
