Service overview

What this service is

Correct an already-filed return before the due date. Delivered end-to-end by Bluman's Chartered Accountants with a fixed scope and a published price.

Who needs it

Taxpayers who have already filed a return for the year and later find an error or omission — missed income, a wrong deduction, an incorrect bank account or a wrong regime selection — and are still within the time allowed to revise.

What Bluman will do

  • Confirm that the revision window for that assessment year is still open before any work begins.
  • Compare the filed return with Form 26AS, the AIS and your records to establish exactly what was wrong.
  • Recompute the return with the correction, quantify the additional tax or the refund change, and explain the consequences.
  • File the revised return quoting the original acknowledgement details, and complete e-verification.

Key deliverables

  • Revised computation showing the change
  • Filed revised return with acknowledgement

Filed quickly once the correction is agreed, subject to the statutory revision window.

  • · Government fees, portal charges and applicable taxes are billed at actuals.
  • · Timelines start once complete documents and information are received.
  • · Outcomes that depend on a government authority cannot be guaranteed, but every step is tracked and communicated.

Forms and filings involved

  • Revised return under section 139(5)

Return filed to correct an omission or wrong statement in the original return.

  • AIS / Form 26AS

Records used to identify what was missed.

Documents required

  • Copy of the original return and its acknowledgement
  • Documents supporting the correction
  • Portal login credentials

What we need from you

  • Act as soon as the error is known — the window is fixed and cannot be extended.
  • Pay any additional tax arising.

Important conditions

  • Where the revision window has closed, an updated return (ITR-U) may be the only route, and that is a separate service.
  • Revising a return does not prevent departmental scrutiny.

What is an Open Order?

Even after a service is marked Completed, your order stays open for follow-up. You can reopen the same ticket for clarifications or related queries within the access window of your plan — the original order details, documents and full history are retained, and no duplicate order is created.

  • · Essential — 15 days of post-completion access
  • · Priority — 30 days of post-completion access
  • · Concierge — 60 days of post-completion access
  • · Reopening is subject to the scope of the original service.
